If CPAP therapy isn’t working for you—or you simply want a comfortable alternative—oral appliance therapy for sleep apnea could be the solution. We provide custom-fitted dental devices that gently reposition your jaw to keep your airway open while you sleep. These devices are often also known as a snoring mouthguard or a sleep apnea mouthpiece.
Oral appliance therapy uses a small, custom-fitted dental device worn during sleep to help maintain an open and stable airway.
The appliance is precisely designed to work with your individual jaw position and airway anatomy to support effective breathing throughout the night.
It is designed to:
Hold the lower jaw slightly forward, increasing airway space and reducing obstruction
Prevent the tongue from collapsing into the airway, a common cause of snoring and airway blockage
Improve airflow, supporting quieter breathing and more restorative sleep

This therapy is clinically proven to reduce snoring and mild-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea, and is widely recognized as an effective, non-invasive alternative for patients who cannot tolerate CPAP or prefer a more comfortable treatment option.

Many patients experience difficulty maintaining long-term CPAP compliance due to factors such as mask discomfort, machine noise, claustrophobia, or the inconvenience of traveling with equipment.
While CPAP can be effective when used consistently, these challenges often limit adherence and overall treatment success.
Oral appliance therapy offers a practical alternative by providing:
A quiet, non-invasive solution that does not require masks, tubing, or powered devices
A portable, travel-friendly option that fits easily into daily life and frequent travel schedules
A comfortable approach for long-term use, designed to improve tolerance and support sustained adherence

For patients with mild to severe obstructive sleep apnea or chronic snoring, oral appliance therapy can offer effective airway support without many of the barriers associated with CPAP use.

Custom-Fitted Appliances
Each oral appliance is individually designed and precisely fitted to your unique bite, jaw position, and airway anatomy. This customized approach helps optimize comfort, effectiveness, and long-term oral health while supporting a stable, open airway during sleep.
Airway-Focused Approach
Rather than managing symptoms alone, we focus on identifying and addressing the underlying airway factors contributing to sleep-disordered breathing. Through comprehensive evaluation of jaw position, airway structure, facial development, and breathing patterns, we create personalized treatment plans that may include craniofacial modification and myofunctional therapy.
This integrated approach supports proper jaw growth, improves muscle function, and promotes long-term airway stability—helping patients achieve sustainable sleep improvement instead of temporary symptom relief.
Ongoing Support
Effective treatment requires ongoing care. We provide regular follow-up visits to monitor progress, make necessary adjustments, and ensure your appliance continues to function optimally as your airway and sleep needs evolve over time.

1️⃣ Comprehensive airway & dental assessment
Your consultation begins with a detailed evaluation of your airway and dental structures, including jaw position, bite alignment, and factors that may contribute to airway obstruction during sleep. This assessment helps determine whether oral appliance therapy is appropriate for your needs.
2️⃣ Sleep history review
We conduct a thorough review of your sleep history, including symptoms such as snoring, daytime fatigue, and prior sleep apnea diagnoses. If available, existing sleep study results are reviewed to better understand your sleep disordered breathing patterns and treatment history.
3️⃣ Custom appliance fitting
If oral appliance therapy is recommended, precise measurements and records are taken to design a custom-fitted device tailored to your bite, jaw position, and airway anatomy. This ensures optimal comfort, effectiveness, and long-term wearability.
4️⃣ Patient education & ongoing adjustments
You will receive clear education on how the appliance works, how to use and care for it, and what to expect during adaptation. Ongoing follow-up visits allow for adjustments as needed to maintain comfort, effectiveness, and long-term treatment success.

I went to see Dr. Adatia and her excellent team today. They were great since the first phone conversation with Tracy, who went through everything with me over the phone and the in-depth explanation from Kelsey in the clinic, and finally, I met the smiley great Dr. Adatia. I still have some more steps in the service I am looking for in this fantastic clinic. I see the significant effort to have the whole team have the same fabulous spirit. They made me feel I was special. Kudos to that exceptional team.
My husband David was very impressed with the friendly, efficient and professional service he received from Dr Saleema Adatia and her staff.
If you experience no sleep for three days previous to a dental appt like I did, come see these folks. They are professional, CARING and personable. They'll surely make the experience more comfortable and even semi-enjoyable. Their banter among themselves as they work , makes one feel like they are sitting round a kitchen table with Family. It reduces stress in itself. I had a life long fear/dislike of dental offices due to a horrible experience as a child. These folks finally put all that in the past. Wonderful folks, from the desk when you walk in all the way through, truly caring professionals.
