Our Story

The story of BreatheWell Sleep and Airway goes back over 25 years when I decided to leave the profession of Physical Therapy to become a dentist. After working as a physiotherapist for almost 4 years, I felt that I needed to have a more direct impact on people's health by playing a more active role in disease prevention.

After graduating from dental school in 2006, I came home again to Calgary and in 2013 I started Symmetry Dental.

I have always been committed to providing patients with the most current treatments available and it was this in mind that I made the decision to meet with Dr. John Remmers to discuss oral appliances and sleep apnea. I knew nothing about sleep apnea at this time and I was intrigued with the notion that dentists could have anything to do with sleep. After just one conversation, Dr. Remmers inspired me to join......

Dr. Remmers went on to become a dear friend and mentor and my greatest champion and I will be forever grateful to him for his friendship and support. His contribution to the field of sleep medicine has impacted the lives of thousands of patients and he will be remembered and missed for years and years to come.

Since starting my work in dental sleep medicine in 2017, the demand for our services has grown to such an extent that in 2025 I made the very difficult decision to sell my general dental practice in order to start BreatheWell Sleep and Airway, a practice that is committed to improving the health of adults and children suffering from sleep related breathing disorders.

This new practice prides itself on bringing together the most current and well informed professionals from the dental sleep medicine world, under one roof, with the shared goal of providing the most up to date, evidence-based interventions for those with sleep and airway related challenges.
