Snoring can disrupt your sleep and your partner’s sleep — but it may also signal underlying sleep apnea. At BreatheWell Sleep, we provide airway-focused snoring treatments that are comfortable, effective, and tailored to your needs.
Common causes of snoring and sleep-disordered breathing are often related to
reduced airway space or instability during sleep. These may include:
Obstructed airway due to jaw or tongue position
When the lower jaw sits too far back or the tongue collapses toward the throat during sleep, airflow can become partially blocked, leading to snoring and breathing disruptions.
Nasal or sinus congestion
Chronic nasal obstruction, allergies, or sinus congestion can increase airway resistance, promote mouth breathing, and contribute to snoring and disrupted sleep.
Weak airway muscles
Reduced muscle tone in the tongue, soft palate, and surrounding airway structures can allow the airway to narrow or collapse during sleep, particularly during deeper stages of sleep.
Narrow airway anatomy
Some individuals naturally have smaller or more constricted airway structures due to jaw shape, facial growth patterns, or craniofacial anatomy, increasing the likelihood of airway collapse during sleep.
Even occasional snoring may be a sign that your airway is not functioning optimally during sleep and can warrant further airway and sleep assessment, particularly when accompanied by daytime fatigue or disrupted sleep quality.

CPAP equipment can be inconvenient for patients who travel frequently or maintain active lifestyles, requiring access to power sources and additional packing considerations.

An oral appliance can be an effective snoring treatment by helping keep the airway open and stable during sleep.
This custom-fitted dental device is worn at night and gently repositions the lower jaw forward, reducing airway vibration and soft tissue collapse that contribute to snoring.
By improving airflow, an oral appliance supports quieter, more restful sleep for both you and your partner.
Best for Patients who:
Cannot tolerate CPAP due to comfort or compliance challenges
Travel frequently and require a portable, non-powered treatment option
Prefer a comfortable, non-invasive alternative to traditional CPAP therapy

Myofunctional therapy can be an effective, non-invasive snoring treatment by addressing the muscle weakness and poor oral posture that contribute to airway vibration during sleep.
Through targeted neuromuscular exercises, we strengthen and coordinate the tongue, lips, soft palate, and airway muscles to improve nasal breathing and airway stability.
As muscle tone improves, the airway is better supported at night—helping reduce snoring intensity and frequency while promoting healthier, quieter sleep.
Best for Patients who:
Exhibit mouth breathing or poor oral posture
Have mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea
Experience airway collapse related to muscle tone
Are children with airway or craniofacial development concerns

Lifestyle and sleep coaching can play an important role in snoring treatment by addressing the habits and patterns that contribute to airway instability at night.
By improving nasal breathing, optimizing sleep posture, and reducing mouth breathing, these strategies help decrease airway vibration and soft tissue collapse. Over time, healthier breathing mechanics and supportive lifestyle changes can promote quieter, more restful sleep.

Adults with frequent snoring
Individuals who snore regularly or loudly, particularly when snoring disrupts their own sleep or that of others. Chronic snoring may be related to airway obstruction, jaw position, or reduced airway muscle tone.
CPAP-intolerant sleep apnea patients
Patients diagnosed with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea who struggle with CPAP use and continue to experience snoring or poor sleep quality may benefit from alternative, airway-focused therapies.
Partners of snorers seeking relief
Snoring often affects more than just the person snoring. Partners experiencing disrupted sleep due to loud or persistent snoring may find relief through effective, non-invasive treatment options that improve shared sleep environments.
Those seeking non-invasive solutions
Individuals who prefer conservative, non-surgical approaches to snoring treatment that prioritize comfort, ease of use, and long-term adherence.

Comprehensive airway assessment
Your snoring evaluation begins with a detailed airway assessment to identify the underlying factors contributing to snoring. This includes review of airway anatomy, jaw and tongue position, nasal breathing, sleep posture, and symptom history. Identifying the cause of snoring allows us to determine whether it is related to airway obstruction, muscle tone, or structural factors.
Personalized treatment plan
Based on your assessment findings, we develop a customized treatment plan designed to address the specific contributors to your snoring. Treatment recommendations may include oral appliance therapy, breathing or myofunctional strategies, or other non-invasive airway-focused interventions tailored to your anatomy and sleep habits.
Custom appliance fitting (if indicated)
If an oral appliance is recommended, a custom-fitted device is created to gently reposition the jaw and support an open airway during sleep. Each appliance is individually designed for comfort and effectiveness, helping reduce snoring while maintaining proper jaw and dental alignment.
Follow-ups for optimal results
Snoring treatment often requires fine-tuning. Follow-up visits allow us to monitor improvement, adjust the appliance or therapy as needed, and ensure long-term comfort and effectiveness. Ongoing support helps maintain consistent results and addresses changes in airway function over time.

My husband David was very impressed with the friendly, efficient and professional service he received from Dr Saleema Adatia and her staff.
If you experience no sleep for three days previous to a dental appt like I did, come see these folks. They are professional, CARING and personable. They'll surely make the experience more comfortable and even semi-enjoyable. Their banter among themselves as they work , makes one feel like they are sitting round a kitchen table with Family. It reduces stress in itself. I had a life long fear/dislike of dental offices due to a horrible experience as a child. These folks finally put all that in the past. Wonderful folks, from the desk when you walk in all the way through, truly caring professionals.
I suffer from pretty severe sleep apnea. I mean I did until I found Symmetry Dental. I am a veteran with PTSD who suffered a heart attack last year. Lack of proper sleep is a HUGE factor with both conditions. I have been recovering since the heart attack and I have reduced my symptoms by more than half! This gives me a lifeline to improve my health. I am thankful beyond words to the exceptional staff at Symmetry. I was treated with the utmost kindness and concern. I felt totally supported by the whole team! Highly grateful to you all! Thank you!! 🤗🙏🏻
